Our local food pantry had a serious shortage of items which have not been available to them by the food bank. If there  is anything you can help with please let them know.
Refried, Kidney & Chili Beans (canned)
Canned fruits — Peaches, Pears, Mixed Fruit, Mandarin oranges
Canned tomatoes — Diced, Whole, Stewed
Canned potatoes
Canned — Tuna, chicken, spam, ham, etc.
Soups — Tomato, Chicken Noodle, cream soups, Ramen soups
Hearty Soups — Vegetable Beef, Chunky Soups, Chili
Cereals — Cold & Hot Cereals
Dry Pasta — Elbow macaroni, Rotini, Bow Ties, Lasagna, Noodles
Pasta Sauces
Condiments – Ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, bar-b-q sauce, steak sauce, salad dressings, pickles, etc.
Baking — Cake, Brownie, Muffin, Cookie Mixes and frosting, sugars, chocolate chips, etc.
Pancake Mix & syrup
Hygiene items — Children & Adult Shampoo, Conditioner, Toilet Paper
20 Mule Team Borax, Washing Soda, 4 lb. box baking Soda, Purex Crystals, bars Ivory Soap, Oxy Clean – to make laundry soap with.

GLENWOOD CEMETERY – LOOKING FOR BOARD MEMBER

The City of Glenwood is looking for a female board member who would like to serve on the Cemetery Board.  This is a 3 year term appointed by the Mayor; but currently we are filling a vacated position which term expires November 2017.  The Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am.  If you are interested or would like more information; please call City Hall at 527.4717.

Lost key

If you lost a key with three store cards attached near the Glenwood water department; they are available for pick up at the city hall – ask for Angie to identify.  We are next door to the water department – at 5 N Vine St.

Looking for Library Board Members

Library Board Opening: The Glenwood Public Library is seeking trustees – Six year term; beginning July 2014. The board consists of 5 members charged with overseeing the Library’s planning, services, policies, and expenditures. You must be at least 18 years of age and citizen of US. Resident of Glenwood (however; we do have one member that can be from the county); willing to commit about 6 hours a month; and one evening meeting a month -2 hours. This is not a paid position.
